A Credit Union is a savings and lending institution open only to its field of membership. It pays dividends on savings, makes low cost loans, and provides other useful services. It is member-owned and non-profit, and its sole focus is to serve its members. This is in contrast to corporate banks, which aim to maximize profits for shareholders. Because members own the credit union, earnings are returned to the membership in the form of dividends and lower loan rates.
We care about your needs
Credit unions have been around for many years and have remained popular among their members for product and services. Now as larger banks acquire smaller banks and merge with other large banks to form "mega" banks, customers may be left in a financial institution that does not care about them or their needs.
